Dr. Lola Fayanju Receives Duke-NUS Travel Grant to Singapore
Dr. Lola Fayanju, Assistant Professor of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology, has been awarded a Duke-NUS travel grant to facilitate collaboration with fellow surgical oncologists and health services researchers at the Singhealth Duke-NUS Breast Centre, the largest facility providing comprehensive breast cancer care in Singapore. Her visit, during which she will also give a lecture to the host department, will take place in early 2019.

Fellow in Breast Surgical Oncology Receives Conquer Cancer Merit Award
Dr. Nina Tamirisa, Fellow in Breast Surgical Oncology, has been awarded a Conquer Cancer Merit Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) for her project titled "The Impact of Chemotherapy Sequence on Survival in Node-positive Invasive Lobular Carcinoma." This abstract, for which Dr. Tamirisa is first author and Dr. Lola Fayanju, Assistant Professor of Surgery, is senior author, was selected for presentation at the 2018 ASCO meeting in Chicago.
Dr. Lola Fayanju Presents at American Surgical Association Annual Meeting
Lola Fayanju, MD, Assistant Professor of Surgery, Division of Advanced Oncologic and Gastrointestinal Surgery, presented her recent research at the American Surgical Association (ASA) Annual Meeting. Her research involved a review of 20,000 patients in the National Cancer Database, with a focus on the results of neoadjuvant chemotherapy and its link to overall survival rates.

Dr. Georgia Beasley Selected to Present at International Cancer Therapy Symposium
The Society of Surgical Oncology has selected Georgia Beasley, MD, MHS, Assistant Professor of Surgery, to present at the 13th International Symposium on Regional Cancer Therapies. The symposium promotes the exchange of information among physicians, nurses, and researchers practicing in medical, surgical, thoracic, and gynecologic oncology, and gastroenterology.

For Rachel A.
