Edward P. Chen, MD, Chief of the Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, has been recognized by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and American Heart Association (AHA) or his participation on the 2022 ACC/AHA Guideline for the Diagnosis and Management of Aortic Disease. Dr. Chen provided valuable time, attention, and dedication to the guideline development process.

Dawn Coleman, MD, Instructor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, was elected as the Society of University Surgeons Member-at-Large.
Aravind Asokan, PhD, Professor in Surgery, and his team will collaborate with Danaher Corporation, a global science and technology innovator, for the first "Danaher Beacon for Gene Therapy Innovation."
Dr. Asokan will lead the innovation focusing on "product solutions that address bottlenecks impacting viral vector manufacturing yield and quality."
Dr. Anthony Eze Selected as One of the Winners for the 2023 AAST Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Essay Competition
Anthony Eze, MD, General Surgery Resident, selected as one of the winners for the 2023 AAST Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Essay Competition and will be published in the Trauma Surgery & Acute Care Open (TSACO). Dr. Eze’s essay focused on the lack of access to rehab services for victims of gun violence.
