The Division of Plastic, Maxillofacial, and Oral Surgery offers residents, attending physicians, and medical students the opportunity to perform advanced surgical training on fresh tissue.
The Duke Human Fresh Tissue Laboratory is a state-of-the-art medical skills lab that has been used to provide training to medical professionals from Duke and throughout the country since 1997.
The laboratory is the location for the annual Fresh Cadaver Flap Dissection Course, which offers mentoring by internationally renowned faculty, through prosection and participant dissection.
We also offer a Breast Perforator Course where participants receive both hands-on and didactic instruction from skilled plastic surgeons as well as a Microsurgical Techniques & Skills Training Course.
