Congratulations to Cynthia Shortell, MD, Professor and Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, for being named Chair-Elect of the Guidelines Committee for the American Venous Forum (AVF).
Founded in 1987, the AVF is dedicated to improving care for patients with venous and lymphatic disease. As a forum, the AVF provides interactive education for physicians and fellows, provides an online venous registry, and works to increase patient outreach through improved screening.

In April, Duke vascular surgeons introduced novel 3D imaging that harnesses the power of the cloud to facilitate endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR).
Duke Vascular Surgeon's Proposal Accepted for Support by PORT Initiative

The PORT initiative seeks to provide Duke clinicians with reporting tools to enhance their productivity in data collection and analysis.
Dr. Ellen Dillavou Appointed to Editorial Board for Journal of Vascular Surgery: Venous and Lymphatic Disorders
Dr. Ellen D. Dillavou, Associate Professor, Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, was recently appointed to the Editorial Board of the Journal of Vascular Surgery: Venous and Lymphatic Disorders. Dr. Dillavou has also been elected to be president of the Vein Center Board of Directors for the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission. The commission accredits vein centers that manage superficial venous disorders.
