The integrated training program does rotations at the Durham VA Medical Center, a Deans' Committed Veterans Affairs Medical Center, as well as Duke Regional Hospital in Durham.
The rotation at the Durham VA provides exposure to cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, general surgery, and vascular surgery with the academic faculty of Duke University Medical Center.
The rotation at Duke Regional Hospital provides exposure to a community hospital setting as well as an opportunity to work in the area of advanced laparoscopy with the faculty in the Division of Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery.
