Faculty Spotlight: Kristen Rezak, MD
Dr. Rezak is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Plastic, Oral, and Maxillofacial Surgery. On the program offering training location at Duke Raleigh Hospital, Dr. Rezak says, "The residents like the Duke Raleigh Plastic Surgery program because they see a different type of program. They're used to this academic university hospital setting, whereas at Duke Raleigh, it's more of a smaller community setting that they don't really get to see. Duke Raleigh Plastic Surgery feels more like a community private practice setting, and I think that's important for the residents to be able to see as part of their education."
Faculty Spotlight: Alexander C. Allori, MD
Dr. Allori is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Plastic, Maxillofacial, and Oral Surgery. On soft skills development Dr. Allori says, "The program prepares our residents for the real world in leadership roles, including a background in teamwork, leadership, communication, crisis management, financial literacy, organization, productivity, and management. They really get a good survey of all the important factors that are needed to be successful in their careers."
Faculty Spotlight: Suhail Mithani, MD
Dr. Mithani is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Plastic, Maxillofacial, and Oral Surgery. On what Dr. Mithani likes best about Duke, "I think the best thing about being here is the relationships that we have, not only among ourselves, but between ourselves and our colleagues in other specialties. The relationships that we have with our colleagues in neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, and urology are almost uniformly affable and collegial."
