Professional Education

The goal of the Duke Department of Surgery Continuing Medical Education (CME) program is to offer education, training and practice, and guidance in providing exemplary patient care.

The Division of Trauma and Critical Care Surgery offers several CME opportunities throughout the year, including:

  • Advanced Trauma Life Support Training: Held in June and July
  • Annual Trauma Symposium: Held in March
  • Annual Fall Trauma Workshop: Held in September

For more information, email Georgina Durst.

Other CME programs occur throughout the year, developed by specialists within the medical center. The Duke University Health System's Office of Clinical Education and Professional Development (CEPD) provides accreditation for all CME courses offered by Duke School of Medicine and School of Nursing.
