Abstracts from Duke Breast Surgery Team Accepted at SSO Annual Meeting

The Section of Breast Surgery in the Division of Advanced Oncologic and Gastrointestinal Surgery has 5 abstracts accepted for oral or poster presentation at the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) Annual Meeting next month in Chicago. The abstracts materialized from the Duke Breast Clinical Outcomes Meeting, a weekly meeting created by Dr. Rachel Greenup, Director of the Breast Surgery Fellowship, shortly upon her arrival at Duke. Dr. Greenup co-directs the meeting with breast surgeon Dr. Lola Fayanju.

According to Dr. Fayanju, the meeting is a forum for developing research questions; internally vetting proposals; and reviewing abstracts, manuscripts, grant proposals, and presentations. “We are very proud of the multidisciplinary, methodologically sophisticated work that has emerged from this group,” says Dr. Fayanju.
