Dr. Ipshita Prakash Selected to Present at the Society of Surgical Oncology Annual Meeting

Ipshita Prakash, MD, MSc, FRCSC, Breast Surgery Oncology Fellow, has been selected to present her case topic at the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) Annual Meeting for the SSO Case Presentations with Fellows and Professors session.

The session at SSO provides fellows with the opportunity to present an interesting surgical oncology case in front of a panel. These presentations involve a case-based presentation of patient evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment. This will lead to a discussion around clinical decision-making, questioning of conventional clinical paradigms, and integration of cutting-edge evidence into clinical practice.

Dr. Prakash will present her case topic “Metachronous Contralateral Axillary Lymph Node Metastases.”

“I hope I can draw attention to how patient-centered, thoughtful, and evidence-based the Duke Breast Oncology Group is when it comes to taking care of patients with breast cancer, while also being evidence-generating by challenging conventional standards,” says Dr. Prakash. “In doing so, they truly practice at the leading edge of breast cancer care.”

The session will take place at the SSO Annual Meeting in Boston, MA on March 27th.
