How to Apply

Applicants must have completed or anticipate completion of an ACGME cardiac surgery residency (traditional or integrated).

The Duke Congenital Cardiac Surgery Fellowship Program shall select applicants meeting the qualifications for eligibility set forth by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

All required clinical education for entry into ACGME-accredited fellowship programs must be completed in an ACGME-accredited residency program or in an RCPSC-accredited or CFPC-accredited residency program located in Canada.

Prior to appointment in the program, trainees must have successfully completed an ACGME-accredited program in thoracic surgery.

Selection for interview is based upon academic credentials, clinical performance, and all included application materials. The final ranking of candidates for the Thoracic Surgery Directors Association (TSDA) Match is done on the basis of academic accomplishments, communication skills, and personal qualities.
