
Louise Jackson, MBBS, MA, FACS has been named as Duke Surgery’s next Medical Student Clerkship Director.
A colorectal surgeon, Dr. Jackson is currently an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Surgical Oncology, having joined the Duke faculty in 2018.
After beginning her training in the United Kingdom, Dr. Jackson spent two years as a resident at Brown University and then completed her General Surgery training at the University of Utah, followed by a colorectal surgery fellowship at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
In the education space, she has served as a faculty lead for the General Surgery Interest Group and as the Education Institute Director of the Surgical Education and Activities Lab (SEAL), where she has been instrumental in the creation of new educational programs for Duke Surgery’s students, trainees, and faculty members. Her leadership role with SEAL will continue as she takes on this new position.
