Clinical and Research Interests
I look forward to exploring all subfields within plastic surgery, particularly hand, craniofacial, pediatric plastic and reconstructive micro surgery. My research has thus far focused on outcomes after reconstructive hand and craniofacial surgery, predominantly patient-reported aesthetic and functional outcomes following cleft interventions.
What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a large, well-established program with the comraderie and energy of a small program. Duke offers phenomenal clinical training across the full bredth of subspecialties and continues to grow every year, with new additions to the faculty incorporating new techniques and frontiers into our day-to-day training. Duke's program feels alive and constantly evolving. The faculty are extremely accessible and the co-residents feel like a team.
What are the strengths of the Duke program?
Craniofacial trauma, hand, cleft, breast, bread and butter plastics
What advice do you have for incoming interns?
Always max out your free meal points. Change your pager tone to a non-annoying sound. When you're worried, call someone. When you're feeling down, go find your teammates.

Durham is always lush and green and it's warm for most of the year. There's a thriving outdoor culture centered around accessible lakes, rivers, and forested areas and the outdoor markets and fesivals that crop up downtown several times a week all year long.

Volleyball, music, explore new places
