The Arnold P. Gold Foundation has awarded its Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award to General Surgery resident Babatunde Yerokun, MD, in recognition of his exceptional teaching skills and commitment to compassionate treatment of patients, families, students, and colleagues.
Recipients of the award are nominated by third-year medical students and vetted by a committee of students and faculty. Criteria for the award includes behavior as a role model, approachability and accessibility to students, enthusiasm, effective communication skills, and cultural sensitivity.
