Postdoctoral Fellow Receives NCI Kirschstein Research Service Award

The National Institutes of Health has chosen Michael C. Brown, PhD, post-doctoral fellow, as the recipient of the Ruth L. Kirschstein Postdoctoral Individual National Research Service Award. This post-doctoral fellowship award will enhance Dr. Brown’s investigation of “Cancer Immunotherapy through Intratumoral Activation of Recall Responses."

Dr. Brown is jointly mentored by Smita K. Nair, PhD, and Darell Bigner, MD, PhD.

Ruth L. Kirschstein, the award’s namesake, was the first woman to be appointed director of an NIH Institute: the National Institute of General Medical Sciences.
