Dr. Nina Tamirisa, Fellow in Breast Surgical Oncology, has been awarded a Conquer Cancer Merit Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) for her project titled "The Impact of Chemotherapy Sequence on Survival in Node-positive Invasive Lobular Carcinoma." This abstract, for which Dr. Tamirisa is first author and Dr. Lola Fayanju, Assistant Professor of Surgery, is senior author, was selected for presentation at the 2018 ASCO meeting in Chicago. Notably, Dr Tamirisa was awarded one of only a handful of newly endowed merit awards; she is the first recipient of the Darla C. Ellis Endowed Women who Conquer Cancer Merit Award.
