Duke Children's Surgery Wins Top Awards at Duke Quality and Safety Meeting

This year’s institution-wide Duke Quality and Safety Meeting brought over 600 participants and 150 abstracts. In preparation for the American College of Surgeons Children’s Surgery Verification Program, a robust and integrated quality and safety program for Duke Children’s Surgery was developed over the past several years by Dr. Alexander Allori, Assistant Professor of Surgery, Division of Plastic, Maxillofacial, and Oral Surgery.

This year, children’s specialties took all three top awards at the meeting with the highest honor, the Rebecca Kirkland award, going to Vani Sistla and Dr. Allori for their work in lowering surgical site infections among children.

Congratulations to the team!
