Dr. Anna Carlson Elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society

Dr. Anna Carlson, Integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Resident, one of two residents from the Section of Surgical Disciplines, has been inducted into the Duke University School of Medicine chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society.

Every year, the AOA elects a small number of students, residents, and fellows into the medical honor society.  These individuals exemplify the qualities of scholarship, leadership, fairness, compassion, integrity, and service.

“To me, the most meaningful part of election to AOA is knowing that others believe I reflect AOA’s values professionalism, scholarship, and leadership, and consider me part of a group defined by being worthy to serve the suffering,” says Dr. Carlson. “I hope that my election to AOA will allow me to promote these values and broaden those who I reach through mentorship in my early professional career.”
