The Duke Human Heart Repository has been a resource for cardiovascular research scientists at Duke University since 2004, and with a new grant, the facility will be able to expand its capabilities.
Dawn Bowles, PhD, Assistant Professor, Division of Surgical Sciences, serves as co-director of the repository with heart surgical director Carmelo Milano, MD. The repository makes its collection available to researchers in an effort to further cardiovascular science.
Dr. Bowles’ grant, titled “Expanding the Capabilities and the Utilization of the Duke Human Heart Repository,” will be funded in full by the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.
