Congratulations to Muath Bishawi, MD, MPH, Cardiothoracic Surgery Resident, on receiving first place for his oral presentation at the annual meeting of the North Carolina Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society (NCTERMS). Dr. Bishawi’s presentation titled, “Tissue-Engineered Blood Vessels Is a Model of Endothelial Radiation Injury,” was based on his current PhD work using tissue-engineered blood vessels to model radiation-related injury to cardiovascular function.
