What were you looking for in a residency program?

A wide array of cases that span the breadth of plastic surgery, an expert faculty committed to education, and a cohort of residents who learn from and support each other

What are the strengths of the Duke program?

Duke can teach you to be an expert in almost any field and even teach you to pioneer new frontiers in plastic surgery. We have tremendous surgeons and clinical experiences from every specialty and this provides countless learning opportunities.

What advice do you have for incoming interns?

Embrace this time-honored apprenticeship that you are about to begin. It will morph you into a capable surgeon. Know you can always ask for help (even after residency).

What do you like best about living in Durham and the Triangle?

Durham is the dining capital of the American South and the food here is top-notch. My main hobby is exploring new restaurants and sharing food photographs @bullbythefork along with my thoughts. I own a house here (as do most of my co-residents), which the cost-of-living really permits here.

What do you like to do outside of Duke?

In addition to my restaurant reviews, I enjoy gardening, cooking, doing house projects, and exploring real estate in Durham.
