Clinical and Research Interests
My clinical interests are mainly in hand & upper extremity surgery and in peripheral nerve surgery. My research combines skillsets in materials science, molecular biology, and device engineering, applied to two broad focus areas: (1) developing innovative biomaterials that promote healing and support reconstruction, and (2) improving access to clinical diagnostic technologies in limited-resource settings.
What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was seeking 3 key attributes in a training program and department: (1) exceptional clinical training, (2) committed clinical and scientific mentors, and (3) a track record of supporting physician-scientists. Duke does an exceptional job in meeting these needs.
