What are the strengths of the Duke program?

Duke has a uniquely close-knit group of residents that I believe is unmatched at other programs around the country. In addition, the high case volume, particularly in microsurgery, and lack of fellows is a unique asset of the program. Finally, Durham is the perfect place to do residency - the ease of living and getting around, weather, and high concentration of outdoor activities/restaurants enables the ideal balance of life outside of residency.

What advice do you have for incoming interns?

Make yourself available and work efficiently.
