Smita Nair, PhD, Professor in Surgery, has been appointed Vice Chief of Translational Training within the Division of Surgical Sciences.
As Vice Chief, Dr. Nair will oversee development and coordination of translational research training opportunities for Department of Surgery residents;. She will also work to increase visibility of Surgical Sciences laboratories and connect residents with clinical and basic science faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career scientists. In addition, her role will include supporting resident engagement in translational research while strengthening collaboration across the Department of Surgery and the Division of Surgical Sciences.
