Duke Hosts 4th Annual Craniomaxillofacial Trauma Course

The 4th Annual Duke Craniomaxillofacial Trauma Course had over 50 participants representing a broad scope of surgical subspecialties, including Plastic Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery, Oculoplastics, and Otolaryngology, with attendees from New York, Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina, and every major academic teaching hospital in North Carolina.

The course provided focused didactic lectures in state-of-the-art craniomaxillofacial reconstructive techniques, reinforced with cadaveric performance of these same procedures using the exact materials and equipment available in a modern operating room. This training program highlighted on a national level the available resources, facilities, and expertise the Duke University Department of Surgery has to educate the next generation of craniomaxillofacial trauma surgeons.
