Dr. Shelley Hwang Accepted as ELAM Program Fellow

Shelley Hwang, MD, MPH, Vice Chair of Research and Chief of Breast Surgery, has been accepted as a member of the 2018–2019 class of fellows in the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program.

Formed in 1995, the program accepts approximately 50 new fellows world-wide each year, a collection of women leaders who excel in academic medicine, dentistry, public health, and pharmacy. The program offers an intensive one-year fellowship, offering leadership training with coaching, networking, and mentoring opportunities, addressing the need to diversify healthcare leadership. Senior women faculty who demonstrate potential to assume executive leadership positions are chosen as ELAM Fellows.

Please join Duke Surgery in congratulating Dr. Hwang on this achievement.
