Dr. Oluwadamilola "Lola" Fayanju Selected as KL2 Scholar through Duke Clinical and Translational Science Institute

By Scott Behm, Department of Surgery

Congratulations to Dr. Oluwadamilola “Lola” Fayanju, Assistant Professor of Surgery, Division of Advanced Oncologic and Gastrointestinal Surgery, for being selected as a KL2 Scholar through the Duke Clinical and Translational Science Institute. The objective of the KL2 program is to train and develop young investigators using state-of-the-art clinical and translational research methods. The program selects three Duke KL2 scholars annually, and each scholar receives mentoring support, funds for research expenses and travel, and the opportunity to conduct clinical and translational studies.

Dr. Fayanju will receive KL2 scholarship support for three years. She thanks Dr. Shelley Hwang, Dr. Allan Kirk, Dr. Ted Pappas, and the other department leaders for their tremendous amount of mentorship and support since arriving at Duke in August of 2016. Her work with the KL2 program will prepare her as a lead investigator and also make way for the next generation of clinical and translational researchers.
