Georgia Beasley, MD, to Join SSO Board of Directors

Georgia M. Beasley, MD, MHSc, Associate Professor of Surgery, has been elected to the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) Board of Directors for the 2026-2029 term.

Incoming Board of Directors Members were nominated by SSO members and vetted by the Nominating Committee. Final selections were made by the Nominating Committee and current Board of Directors. 

Dr. Beasley joined the Duke Division of Surgical Oncology faculty in 2017. She has served as co-director of the Duke Melanoma Program since 2019, and additionally serves as section chief of melanoma surgery.

Dr. Beasley is a surgeon scientist with active involvement in clinical and translational research focused on the role of innate immunity in anti-tumor responses. She has mentored numerous students and residents in the laboratory, and is principal investigator of over 12 therapeutic clinical trials including novel intratumoral therapies.
