Clinical and Research Interests

Clinically, I am interested in adult craniomaxillofacial surgery and general adult reconstruction.

My research interests are in critically evaluating the cost and quality of surgical care, with a specific interest in how cost is communicated to patients and how cost considerations impact patient decision-making.

What were you looking for in a residency program?

I was looking for a residency program that offered both academic rigor and a supportive environment for both clinical growth and research endeavors.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?

The camaraderie among the residents is one of this program's major strengths. We learn and teach each other at work and support each other socially both inside and outside the hospital.

What advice do you have for incoming interns?

Residency is both hard and fun - learn to lean on your co-residents - they are the best support system that you have.

What do you like to do outside of Duke?

My dog Charlotte and I run - Durham / the Triangle area has some amazing places to both trail run and road run. I love cooking and Durham has a great farmer's market especially in the summer months. Additionally, the restaurants in the Triangle are great and I enjoy exploring new restaurants in the area.
