What were you looking for in a residency program?

Family type of community with attending's and co-residents who would support me throughout my training. I also wanted a strong academic environment where I could have the resources, freedom, and support to take on new research projects.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?

Strong clinical training that is combined with excellent research, which in my opinion provides the strongest possible foundation for the training of an academic surgeon.

What do you like best about living in Durham and the Triangle?

After exploring the area, you realize how much there is to do in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. My favorite part about living in this region is how easy it is to get from one place to another.

What do you like to do outside of Duke?

  • Weightlifting
  • Running
  • Pick-up basketball
  • Cooking
  • Playing with my dog
