Clinical and Research Interests

My clinical and research interests revolve around the developmental biology and surgical treatment of congenital cardiac defects.

What were you looking for in a residency program?

I was looking for a residency program that would not only support and foster my clinical and academic career goals, but also push me to exceed them.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?

While the strengths of the Duke program are many, what makes Duke unique is the multi-faceted way in which the program supports its residents to thrive academically, clinically, and personally. They understand you have no intention of settling in your training, and they have no intention of letting you settle.

What advice do you have for incoming interns?

Residency is going to be a challenging journey no matter where you end up, might as well end up in a place where the people you spend more time with than you do your family feel like family.

What do you like best about living in Durham and the Triangle?

Hands down my favorite aspect of living in Durham is how little energy, effort, time, or money I waste in the pursuit of completing tasks requisite to life outside of residency. No parking struggles + low cost of living = happy resident.

What do you like to do outside of Duke?

  • Yoga
  • Climbing
  • Scuba
