Clinical and Research Interests

Clinically, I am interested in anything related to Emergency Medicine, especially point-of-care ultrasound, out-of-hospital care, and resuscitation.

My research interests have varied widely since medical school. currently, my two main focuses include Resuscitation science, especially post-cardiac arrest care, and International Emergency Medicine.

What were you looking for in a residency program?

I wanted a residency program that encourages diversity, mentorship, and proper wellness. Since I started residency at Duke, I've been part of a very diverse program in terms of culture and interests, and I have received great support and mentorship at a place filled with a lot of academic and research opportunities.

What advice do you have for incoming interns?

Be confident! It's OK to be wrong, but better to speak up rather than regret. Also, being a student or a trainee is always the best time to KEEP ON ASKING QUESTIONS! Always ask, you'll never learn without asking.

What do you like best about living in Durham and the Triangle?

The culture, the outdoor activities, the weather, and the PEOPLE!

What do you like to do outside of Duke?

  • I dance hip-hop and Lebanese line-dancing
  • I love watching movies and science fiction especially Star Wars
