The Craniomaxillofacial Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery Outcomes Laboratory focuses on the study of anatomic and surgical aspects and outcomes related reconstructive surgical management of traumatic, oncologic and developmental craniomaxillofacial surgical procedures.

Present work is related to the following conditions:

  • Craniomaxillofacial trauma
  • Oncologic facial reconstruction
  • Benign pathologic reconstruction
  • Neurological and skull based reconstruction
  • Orthognathic Surgery
  • Gender affirmation
  • Cleft lip/palate
  • Craniosynostosis

Methods employed in these investigations span the entire spectrum of craniomaxillofacial reconstructive surgery from anatomic dissection, image analysis, case-control and cohort studies, outcome analysis, and population-based survey studies.

This lab has a focused interest in methods for medical education and has several projects related to video-based and workshop-based education to improve learning by medical students and surgical residents.
