Joshua Ginzel, a PhD student in the Developmental & Stem Cell Biology Program, has been selected as a recipient of the 2024 Dean's Award for Research Excellence (DARE). The DARE awardees are selected by a faculty review panel for their exemplary scientific and leadership contributions as a graduate student and for maintaining a positive culture in their community.
In his time as a graduate student in the lab of Joshua Snyder, PhD, Associate Professor in Surgery, Division of Surgical Sciences, Ginzel has made significant scientific contributions to cancer research and to the overall climate of the lab. His innovative work on cancer rainbow models, single-cell transcriptomics, and spatial transcriptomics has led to major scientific advances.
His most recent work has also initiated new collaborative opportunities with mathematicians and physicists. Joshua's commitment to learning and mentoring in the lab is likely to have a long-lasting influence on the lab for many years to come.
