Dawn Coleman, MD, Lisa Mureebe, MD, Elected ASA Fellows

Dawn Coleman, MD, Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, and Leila Mureebe, MD, Professor of Surgery, have been elected as Fellows of the American Surgical Association (ASA). They will be inducted into the ASA during the association's 2024 Annual Meeting.

The ASA was founded in 1880 and is the nation's oldest surgical association. Its members include the nation's most prominent surgeons from the country's leading academic medical institutions, many of whom are Chairs of the Departments of Surgery at these institutions. Membership also includes leading surgeons from around the world. 

"I am so proud of Dr. Mureebe for this accomplishment, and grateful for the department's continued support of our division and faculty," says Dr. Coleman of this achievement.
