I’m a thoracic surgeon dedicated to advancing lung transplantation. My research focuses on ischemia-reperfusion injury and how acute damage during the peri-transplant period impacts long-term graft health. Using both small and large animal models, I aim to translate these insights into strategies that make transplantation more durable and effective. My career goal is to bridge experimental science and clinical practice to improve patient outcomes. I’m always happy to connect with others in transplant, pulmonary, or immunology research. Outside the lab, I play the violin and was a proud member of the Durham Medical Orchestra—music helps me stay balanced and inspired.
