Bradley H. Collins, MD, Associate Professor of Surgery, Division of Abdominal Transplant Surgery, was recently selected by a distinguished faculty committee to receive the 2019 Leonard Palumbo Jr., MD Faculty Achievement Award. Named in honor of Dr. Palumbo Jr. who completed his undergraduate and medical education at Duke, this award recognizes a faculty member who is deeply committed to compassionate patient care and excellence in the teaching and mentoring of young physicians.
Because of the exceptionally impressive nominees this year, the committee decided to award the prize to both Dr. Collins and Dr. Susan Kreissman in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Allan D. Kirk, Chair of the Duke Department of Surgery, presented Dr. Collins with the award at the annual Spring Faculty Meeting in May.
