17th Annual Duke Masters of Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery
The 17th Annual Duke Masters of Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery (the "Masters") brings together the world's foremost experts to share the latest advances in minimally invasive thoracic surgery techniques through video-based presentations, panel discussions, and debates. The Masters will focus on current and emerging critical issues, new and upcoming advances in technology and practice, complex cases, and the most up-to-date research. Our Master Faculty will engage in lively and vigorous debates and discussions on topics and controversies faced by thoracic surgeons. For over 25 years, course director Dr. Thomas D'Amico has taught thoracoscopic lobectomy and other minimally invasive procedures at medical institutions all over the world, and the Duke Masters continues to attract an international audience. The Masters offers an optional practical robotic skills lab prior to the 2-day didactic course which provides an opportunity to learn and practice robotic techniques with a low Master to participant ratio. Breakout sessions are offered for Advanced Practice Providers and First Assistants who support Surgeons in the OR to discuss operative considerations and assisting techniques. These sessions are led by expert Physician Assistants with extensive experience in first-assist thoracoscopic and robotic operative techniques.
