Colorectal Surgery

Duke Colorectal Surgery Group

The Section of Colorectal Surgery is dedicated to patient care, education, and research of all conditions of the small bowel, colon, and rectum, both benign and malignant.

Our highly trained specialists have the expertise to perform surgeries for the rarest and most complicated diseases, including colorectal cancers. A nationally ranked cancer program, Duke is consistently recognized as among the best cancer programs in the country by U.S.News & World Report.

We are a high volume center for colorectal surgery, specializing in endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures. We work closely with our colleagues in plastic surgery, urology, and gynecologic oncology to provide comprehensive care for patients.

Our faculty prides itself on our involvement with Duke Department of Surgery programs, including the General Surgery Residency and other education initiatives. We pioneer new approaches to surgery that are later adopted throughout the department. We’re also leaders in quality measures and programs at Duke.
