Neel Prabhu Receives NRSA F32 Research Award

Neel Prabhu, MD, Cardiothoracic Surgery Resident, has been granted a Postdoctoral Individual National Research Service Award (NRSA F32) by the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Prabhu, a research fellow in the Congenital Heart Surgery Research and Training Laboratory of Joseph Turek, MD, MBA, received the award to support his research proposal titled, “Cultured Thymus Implantation to Induce Cardiac Xenotolerance.” Laura Hale, MD, Professor of Pathology, will co-advise on the project to study the immune mechanisms surrounding rejection and tolerance in heart transplantation.
