Duke Breast Surgical Oncologists Publish Study in JAMA Oncology

A team of researchers from the Duke Division of Surgical Oncology, Section of Breast Surgery, has published a study in JAMA Network Open, with findings that suggest that ERBB2-low expression and its association with clinical outcomes vary across racial and ethnic groups in patients with triple negative breast cancer, a potentially relevant finding that should be considered in future clinical studies.

Astrid Botty van den Bruele, MD, Assistant Professor of Surgery, served as first author for the study: 'ERBB2-Low Expression by Race and Ethnicity Among Patients With Triple-Negative Breast Cancer.' Maggie DiNome, Professor of Surgery and Chief of Breast Surgery, was the study's senior author, with several additional Breast Surgery faculty serving as contributing authors: Hannah E. Woriax, MD; Kendra Parish, DO; Akiko Chiba, MD; Laura Rosenberger, MD; Ton Wang, MD; and Jennifer Plichta, MD.
