Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery's Kevin Southerland, MD, Assistant Professor of Surgery, was awarded the American Surgical Association (ASA) Foundation's Fellowship Research Award by it's Board of Trustees. This award will help fund his project titled "Elucidating the Mechanisms of Mesenchymal Progenitor Cells in Peripheral Arterial Disease."
Dr. Southerland will receive $75k of funds to conduct his research and will be given the opportunity to present his findings at the 2026 ASA Annual Meeting in Seattle, Washington.
