The Division of Urology’s Em Abbott, PhD, Research Scientist, was selected to be the new KURe (K12) Scholar for her project titled: Uncovering neuromechanical links in bladder dysfunction following spinal cord injury.
Dr. Abbott is a preclinical scientist who completed her PhD at UC Irvine (Azizi Lab) and two postdoctoral appointments at Georgia Institute of Technology (Physiology of Wearable Robotics Lab) and Temple University (Lemay Lab). As a KURe scholar, she will investigate how compliance of the neurogenic bladder may limit or enhance neuromodulation treatments at Duke University (Grill Lab).
