Duke Orthopaedics was honored to host Warren C. Hammert, DDS, MD, as the Twenty-eighth Annual Duke Hand Club James R. Urbaniak Visiting Professor. During Grand Rounds on February 14, 2018, Dr. Hammert presented, "Solving the Mystery of Ulnar Sided Wrist Pain.” Dr. Hammert is a Professor at the University of Rochester. Dr. Hammert's clinical practice includes all aspects of hand and wrist surgery as well as peripheral nerve surgery and microsurgery. He has a special expertise in surgical treatment of pediatric hand conditions, reconstructive surgery for arthritic and traumatic disorders of the hand and wrist, as well as upper extremity nerve disorders.
Dr. Hammert earned his medical degree at Medical College of Pennsylvania. He has also completed a Plastic Surgery Residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and a Fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery at the Hand Center of Western New York. Dr. Hammert has published numerous articles and book chapters and presented his research at regional and national meetings. He is board certified in plastic surgery, and has a Certificate of Added Qualification for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Hammert is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Plastic Surgery, and Chief of the Hand and Wrist Division at UR Medicine.
