David Ruch, MD, Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, was recently awarded a grant from Acumed for the "Upper Extremity Outcomes Study Plan." The study uses a clinical database to capture clinical outcomes on a series of upper extremity procedures using standard clinical and radiographic assessments of the implantation of different devices. Functional outcomes will be determined through the evaluation of the Disability of Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH) Score over time. The data have been successful at improving outcomes in upper extremity surgery.
