We are excited to announce that STAR 2024 will take place from March 25 - April 5, 2024. Interested fourth-year medical students who are planning to match into surgery or surgical specialties should contact Alex Bartholomew, MD, starting October 23rd for permission numbers for course enrollment, which will open early November per the Duke School of Medicine Registrar's Office. As in previous years, registration will be capped at 20 students.
Focuses for 2024
While the 2024 curriculum will largely reflect past experiences, we try to modify the course every year based on feedback from students.
We made several changes with great feedback from last year's course and will continue to focus on specialty-specific content and hands-on simulation in the SEAL lab.
