Welcome from Program Director

We’re delighted that you are considering Duke Emergency Medicine for your residency training. Our program is a proud member of the Duke Medicine team, which has been a leader in advancing the practice of medicine for over 75 years.

With over a decade of emergency medicine at Duke, we’re a well-established program with an exciting clinical, education, and research environment.

I grew up inspired by the vision of leaders like JFK, who defined a generation of scientific inquiry through his quest to reach the Moon. As Residency Director, I've challenged our residents to launch our own Apollo mission: to expand the frontiers of emergency medicine through research and education, bringing new knowledge to unleash the best possible medical care for our patients.

Spend some time exploring the opportunities available to current Duke emergency medicine residents and the honors they have achieved, as well as the outstanding successes of our graduates.

Enjoy your visit to our Web site. We hope to see you in Durham, to learn more about you and how you can become a part of the Duke team.
