What were you looking for in a residency program?

In choosing a program I was looking for a place that would be able to support my research interests as well as a place where I would receive world-class training.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?

Duke Otolaryngology has a great surgical education and a an emphasis on research.

What advice do you have for incoming interns?

  • Do your homework, study hard, and don't eat food that's cooked in lard.
  • Call a family member every day.

What do you like best about living in Durham and the Triangle?

  • Diverse population with many different opportunities for fun.

What do you like to do outside of Duke?

Playing basketball, playing piano, and fishing are my primary forms of stress relief.
