The fellowship will encompass a combination of clinical/surgical (80%) and research (20%) training. Clinically fellows will focus on mastering basic and advanced endourologic surgical techniques including ureteroscopy and percutaneous renal access
Endourology research opportunities include retrospective and prospective studies, clinical trials, bench-top study of laser physics and other novel surgical devices.
Fellows work closely with program directors concentrating on basic and clinical investigations in managing nephrolithiasis and BPH.
We are currently involved in lithotripsy research including animal studies (bioeffects) as well as long-term clinical trials.

Call Responsibilities
The fellow will be employed as a Clinical Associate faculty member and will be responsible for three weeks of faculty call per year at Duke University Hospital and three weekends of compensated faculty call at Duke Raleigh Hospital.
