Continuing Medical Education
Continuing medical education (CME) offered through the Duke Department of Surgery provides opportunities for education, training, and guidance in providing exemplary surgical care to patients.
The Duke University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Physicians who attend Department of Surgery Grand Rounds are eligible to receive CME credit.
Duke Center for Surgical Education and Innovation
The Duke Center for Surgical Education and Innovation is dedicated to training surgeons using the latest surgical techniques and innovative procedures, including minimally invasive surgery, microsurgery, and robotic surgery. Utilizing a combination of didactic lectures, live surgeries, video, and hands-on labs, hundreds of surgeons and allied health professionals from around the world have been trained through the center. Both accredited and non-accredited educational courses are offered throughout the year in a wide range of surgical specialties.
