The Section of Melanoma Surgery is dedicated to patient care, education, and research for patients with malignant melanoma and other skin cancers.

Our highly trained specialists perform surgeries using the newest technologies for early stage and advanced melanoma. We work closely with medical and radiation oncology and other surgical specialists in multidisciplinary environment to provide a team approach for complex melanoma patients. A nationally ranked cancer program, Duke is consistently recognized as among the best cancer programs in the country by U.S.News & World Report.

Our melanoma surgeons see patients in the Duke Cancer Institute. They evaluate patients as part of multidisciplinary team including medical oncology, pathology, dermatology, radiation oncology, and surgical oncology. Our melanoma surgeons lead clinical trials supported by the DCI and are involved in many clinical and translational research projects.

Our faculty prides itself on our involvement with Duke Department of Surgery programs, including the General Surgery Residency and other education initiatives.
